After an extensive test phase the taxi trade in Germany has now announced the official launch of a joint app interface.
Customers can order taxis nationwide using different apps. It should not matter where the customer is located in Germany at the time of ordering, stated the Federal Association of German taxi and FHV “BZP” under whose roof the joint project was realized.
The interface is designed for the applications „taxi.eu“, „Taxi Deutschland“ and „cab4me“ developed since 2013. 90 percent of some 55,000 available taxis in Germany can now be contacted.
With the launch the child was given an official name: „Deutsches Taxi-Service-Netzwerk DTN“ („German taxi service network DTN“).
„With the German taxi service network, we have managed to unite from Kiel to Ulm some 90 percent of all taxis in Germany electronically. Customers who order a vehicle from one of our apps will reliably obtain their desired service – no matter when or where,“ explains Hermann Waldner, CEO of the application taxi.eu.
Dieter Schlenker, CEO of Taxi Deutschland eG: „The teamwork of the taxi radio circuits is our signal. The taxi industry is technically innovative, with total coverage and reliable coverage for everyone, in every town and in every city. “
With the launch of the DTN, the taxi trade took a stance with clear announcements against external competitors such as Uber and other TNC´s. BZP-President Michael Müller says: „We contact only taxi drivers who offer their service under the provisions of the passenger transport regulations and their service is monitored by a local taxi radio circuit. The common interface strengthens Internet-based systems that have sprung up from the taxi trade. „jh
