IRU Taxi Group launches global taxi network
A first step is done: On the occasion of its sixth IRU Taxi Forum, the IRU Taxi Group launched GTN – the Global Taxi Service Quality Network.
With what is essentially a certification system, the IRU wants to offer a guarantee for quality apps plus safe and legal taxi service quality. The IRU also called on the app vendors and taxi associations to join this network and become a member of the IRU to form a solid quality network. Its ultimate goal is, as was recently achieved in Germany, to connect the different apps via an interface, so that anyone who has one ‘GTN-app’ can automatically order a cab with this app, even though that app is not serviced in that particular area or city.
By the end of 2015, GTN must operate globally and thus form the largest network in the world for taxi apps. Currently, IRU is looking for partners in the US and in Australia, and later in 2015 the search will be widened to the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Ecab and Taxi.eu -which incidentally already talked to each other during the Taxi Expo 2013 in Amsterdam – form the international heart of GTN. GTN’s third partner is the app of the largest taxi group in Austria, Taxi 40100 (CC Center). Together these apps already cover several hundred cities in the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Great Britain and the US.
