It is a great honour for the taxi trade. Olaf Scholz, Hamburg’s first mayor, has taken over the sponsorship for the fourth Norddeutscher Taxi- und Mietwagentag (Northern German Taxi and For Hire Vehicle Day).
“The political support for the taxi trade shows us how highly valued our trade is in northern Germany and how well we cooperate with political organisations”, says Thomas Lohse, member of the board of Taxen-Union Hamburg Hansa e.V. (Union of Hamburg Taxis) and organiser of the event. “And the opening speech will be given by Fritz Horst Melsheimer, president of the Hamburg chamber of commerce, which shows how well established we are within the economy.”
The fourth Northern German Taxi and For Hire Vehicle Day takes place on Saturday 13 June 2015 starting at 10 a.m. in Hamburg’s MagnusHall. Nearly 40 exhibitors ranging from vehicle manufacturers to providers of taxi products and services will be represented on site at the trade fair. In addition, the organisers will hold a workshop which includes a panel discussion in the morning on the topic ‘Taxi 2020’. The afternoon will be dedicated to the subject of the legal minimum wage. An expert will report on the ‘Pitfalls for Company Owners’, followed by a presentation by an employee from the finance department on how compliance with the minimum wage is verified from his side.
Taxi operators from eastern, western and southern Germany and all over the world are welcome to register for Norddeutscher Taxitag on the website at www.taxitag.de. jh
